Naturally Extracted Tobacco E-liquid
What is Naturally Extracted Tobacco E-liquid?
Should You Try Natural Extracted Tobacco E-Liquids?
Have you ever wondered how traditional tobacco would taste if distilled into e-liquid form? Well, wonder no more- NET, or naturally extracted tobacco products are out and they are as close as you can get to the real thing. As it turns out, the transition of tobacco into its more technologically advanced form can prove to have greater risks than e-liquids in general. Perhaps the greater question here is, is it worth it?
NET E-Liquids – the process
Naturally extracted tobacco is exactly what it sounds like- ground and/or chopped tobacco distilled into either a VG or PG mix. The process retains the pure taste of tobacco into the mixture. Heating can be used to add more flavour or to accelerate the process. At the other end, cold processing can be done to preserve the flavorful nuance of traditional tobaccos.
NETs have gained popularity because they recreate the flavour of tobacco quite well. Instead of burning the leaves to get the taste, NETs provide a cleaner, more natural raw flavour as compared to combusting one for the flavour. It has been stated that NETs are currently your go-to choice when you want a taste of tobacco in e-liquid form.
The Risks Of Naturally Extracted Tobacco E-Liquid
We all know how smoking tobacco is bad for one’s health. Is it the same for its e-liquid form?
A study was carried out to determine its actual effects on human health. Dr. Farsalinos headed the research and compared 11 NET e-liquid products with real tobacco and 10 e-liquid vaping products. He found out that the NET e-liquids had more tobacco chemical toxins as compared to other non-tobacco e-liquids, but not as much as what real tobaccos had.
NETs can be helpful for those who are looking for a safer and more viable alternative to actual tobacco smoking. Tobacco e-liquids contain far less harmful chemicals when placed side-by-side with real tobaccos. Carcinogens such as nitrosamines, particularly the NNK and NNN variants are at more than 3,000 nanograms in real tobacco, as compared to 6 nanograms in NETs. When placed side-by-side with tobacco-flavoured e-liquids, NETs have 2.6 more nitrosamines.
NETs have proved to be more beneficial than real tobacco for one’s health in a follow-up study consisting of cultured cells. The same triangle follows- conventional e-liquids are safer than their NETs counterpart. A vapor toxicity test for 20 e-liquids, 4 of which are NETs, were carried out. 3 out of the 4 NETs have proven to be noticeably toxic when concentrations were raised to around 50% or higher. Only one of the regular e-liquid products (a cinnamon-based e-liquid) had a toxicity notice in its undiluted form. Tobacco smoke is toxic to cells at 12.5 concentrations and greater. The result shows that non-NETs are safer than their NET counterparts, while still being relatively safe when compared to tobacco products.
NET Taste Vs. Risk
Is the added authenticity in flavour worth the risk? Should you get the NET juices for that “real” tobacco taste, or would it be better to just get a non-NET tobacco-flavoured juice? We will try to compare them here. But for those who plan to get the NETs as a better alternative for smoking real tobacco, the answer here is obvious- by all means, do so. It’s obviously better to vape a NET than to smoke real tobacco.
The question gets a bit more tricky when comparing NETs and their tobacco-flavoured e-liquid counterparts. It very well could boil down to personal preference, in light of the diacetyl scare that has happened. How worried are you about your health in relation to vaping? Individuals may be in the habit of vaping, but they want to take zero risks in as much as they can. Others could be in the habit of vaping for getting a taste of various e-liquids available in the market. Those who are afraid of any kind of risk should avoid vaping altogether.
But in light of getting the nicotine fix at its absolute, safest way possible, then NETs are currently the best alternative. If you’ve completely given up on traditional tobacco and want to try the newest and the most authentic experience, then NETs are the e-liquid of choice. As the answer was given on the tests mentioned above in the NETs versus ordinary e-liquids, NETs come out on top when it comes to replicating the authentic taste, but they are riskier (by a small margin).
Individuals may love to vape just for the sake of it. The risk factor may be negligible in the long run as they are hundreds of times lower in terms of health risks when done in a side-by-side with tobacco. Also, the smoke produced by the NET e-liquid vapour is definitely safer than the smoke produced when igniting a tobacco.
Enthusiasts who prefer the taste of the most authentic tobacco flavour possible can still enjoy NETs without worrying too much about the risks it can pose. NETs are undisputed when it comes to authenticity, strength, nuance and complexity. Try as non-tobacco derivative e-liquids might, but natural extraction is usually the best process to really recreate a flavour. Maybe NETs will have direct competition in the future, when it’s possible to recreate excellent tobacco taste. Remember that NETs have an average .5 percentage in nitrosamine content, and that regular e-liquid products have an average .2 percentage in nitrosamine content. The difference between them is just .3%; is it really something to worry about?
Naturally extracted Tobacco NET concentrates are also very popular, created for the more adventurous DIY market these are cold macerated tobacco extracts which can be mixed with PG/VG and nicotine alone or with other concentrates to create your own unique blends.
Tobacco Lovers Should Try NET E-Liquids
The bottom line here is that the small difference in risk between regular e-liquids and NETs are negligible when it comes to enjoying authentic tobacco taste that a NET can bring. Tobacco taste enthusiasts should definitely consider trying out NETs and see how their experience goes without worrying about potential health risks. Those who are in plainly for the purpose of vaping can wait for the next evolution of e-liquids that don’t carry the inherent risks but still provide realistic flavours. Otherwise, if risk is still the foremost in your mind, you can pass on the NETs e-liquid and continue on vaping with your favourite non-NETs e-liquid product in the market. In the bigger picture, vaping is still safer as compared to traditional tobacco smoking.
